Series: Horse and Rider

A horse and rider move through the shallows beneath a wide Saltburn sky, caught in the warm, subdued light reflected across the wet sand. Seen from beneath Saltburn Pier, the composition opens out towards the distant shoreline, with the rider moving into the space and the small figures beyond emphasising the scale of the beach.

From Saltburn Pier is built around light, movement and atmosphere: the muted warmth of the sky carried into the reflections below, interrupted by the cooler greys of sea and breaking water. The horse and rider provide the moment of energy within that openness, splashing through the shallows while the landscape around them remains expansive and quiet.
