From the fields above Wilmington, the lines of the harvested land sweep towards the distant ridge of Firle Beacon. The curve of the stubble and the dark line of hedgerow lead through a landscape reduced to simple shapes beneath an expansive blue sky. A study of the familiar contours, working fields and clear summer light of the South Downs.
