Series: Downland Light

From the fields at Folkington, the harvested land rises towards the long ridge of Firle Beacon. Strong lines left by the harvest follow the contours of the field, drawing the eye upwards through bands of warm stubble towards the Downs beyond. Beneath the intense blue of a clear summer sky, the painting explores the rhythm and structure of this familiar working landscape.
